Judo was founded by Jigoro Kano in 1882 in Tokyo, Japan. However, Judo techniques come mainly from the ancient martial art of Ju-Jitsu and in English the word Judo translates to the “Gentle or Supple Way”
Countesthorpe Judo Club was established in 2002 and is affiliated to the British Judo Council (BJC)
Many of the coaches At Countesthorpe Judo Club have competed both nationally and internationally.
